Serving Others

The mission work of the Dover Church is born from a desire to grow in faith and to continue the work of Jesus Christ in our time and in this place. Core to The Dover Church covenant is our mission to put our faith into action beyond our congregation - whether within our town, the local community, or across the world. And while there are many things we could do, all efforts we put forth start with members of our congregation – those who have come forward with a great idea plus the passion, commitment and resources necessary to build a sustained and successful initiative.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, plans for a 2021 MATE Trip have been put on hold. We hope to be able to offer an immersive service opportunity for our youth group in the summer of 2021, and will communicate with our families as soon as we have a firmer sense of what will be possible. Thank you for your patience!

The Dover Church is actively involved, as a founding member, in Family Promise Metrowest, a cooperative, interfaith partnership offering hope to homeless families with children through safe transitional shelter, meals, and supportive case management as they seek permanent housing. This nonprofit program was founded in 2008.

We are committed to providing financial, educational, medical and professional support to Haiti.

We have formed a micro-financing team, making loans to people in the developing world in $25 amounts.

Music is the sea on which our worship floats, warming our hearts and inspiring our life together at The Dover Church. If you love to sing or play an instrument, we have a place for you.

Rev. Dr. Max Olmstead preaching

At the center of worship in our Christian tradition is the sermon, a time to reflect on where God’s Word intersects, informs, enriches and directs our lives. In the sermon our in-house theologian, our pastor, seeks to help people see themselves and their lives in the light of God’s love and command to love others.
