Serving Others
The mission work of the Dover Church is born from a desire to grow in faith and to continue the work of Jesus Christ in our time and in this place. Core to The Dover Church covenant is our mission to put our faith into action beyond our congregation - whether within our town, the local community, or across the world. And while there are many things we could do, all efforts we put forth start with members of our congregation – those who have come forward with a great idea plus the passion, commitment and resources necessary to build a sustained and successful initiative.

During the last full week of June, The Dover Church Youth Group takes it’s ministry of service to Western Maine. Building upon our past Mission to the Eastward (MATE) service trips to Farmington, ME, and our past experience with Appalachian Service Project in West Virginia, we will bring our home repair skills back to MATE…”reaching the last house on the last road” (www.missionattheeastward.org).
The Dover Church is actively involved, as a founding member, in Family Promise Metrowest, a cooperative, interfaith partnership offering hope to homeless families with children through safe transitional shelter, meals, and supportive case management as they seek permanent housing. The Dover Church is so much more than Sunday mornings for adults. It’s about growing friendships and connecting with neighbors, whether in yoga or a breakfast group. The only thing missing from these connections may be….You.
Daring to name the pain weighing down or the song exulting your heart can make all the difference. To pray your prayers for you is an answer to our prayers. "God bless you and keep you. God make his face to shine upon you and give you peace." Amen.
