Meet our new Pastoral Associate | The Dover Church
News & Publications
We are very excited to welcome our new Pastoral Associate, Kayla McKinsey. Kayla grew up in Easton, Massachusetts and went to Carleton College out in snowy Minnesota where she studied English, South Asian studies, and Women and Gender studies; and where she sprinted for the track team, worked for the multi-faith campus chapel, and met her fiancé Walter.
Kayla is currently finishing her masters degree at Harvard Divinity School, where her studies focus on ministry and trauma-informed care. In the summers, she co-directs Camp Wilmot, a Presbyterian overnight camp in the Lake Sunapee region of New Hampshire. As a camper and now a staff member, Camp Wilmot has been a place where Kayla has witnessed the transformative power of belonging and play, and where she’s developed a passion for youth ministry. In the little time not in class or up at Camp, Kayla enjoys seeing family, running, reading mystery novels, gardening, cooking and baking, and just being outdoors.
When worshipping with TDC in November, Kayla was taken by the authenticity and welcome she found, and she absolutely cannot wait to discover the many more reasons she'll have to love The Dover Church community! Please introduce yourself to Kayla at coffee hour or at other times on Sundays.
