COVID 19 update from Max | The Dover Church
News & Publications
I have been speaking with the Board of Deacons about worship and whether it would be best to not gather right now. The Southern New England Conference of the UCC has recommended local churches suspend public worship. So, along with staff and the Deacons, I think it best that we not hold public church on Sunday. No worship or Sunday School or Coffee Hour.
Having said that, Kayla, Christine and I will be worshipping a regular worship service with most of the bells and whistles and recording it. It will be online Sunday morning. If you have a prayer request, please send it to me so we can include it in the service.
Further updates: I have started reaching out to college students who will be coming home shortly about nannying for families in which both parents work, should schools, nursery schools and day cares be closed. If your family would need child care help, please let me know.
If you know anyone who is getting financially pinched in some way by this crisis, please let me know. Our church has a Pastor's Discretionary Fund for exactly this sort of situation.
And finally, be nice neighbors. Make sure everyone has their medicines and food and toilet paper (you should see the run on it at the market!) should we go to a full quarantine.
Thanks to all of you who have written me offering your help in caring for others in our community.
