Christmas Tree Food | The Dover Church
News & Publications

The staff and members of The Dover Church have had our hearts warmed by the overflowing generosity of our friends and neighbors in the sharing of food for the hungry and gifts for our neighbors in dire straits. In this time of gift giving, we remember that one in five families in the Commonwealth live in a state of food crisis, having to choose between putting food on the table of paying some other bill. In this time of family gathering, we remember that millions of our neighbors are unemployed, underemployed, or have lost their business due to the pandemic.
In that spirit, we are raising a Christmas Tree in our Taylor Garden on December 13th, between the old Meetinghouse and Kraft Hall, which we will light every afternoon from dusk until 7. We invite those who are so moved to bring by gifts of non-perishable food to place under the tree every evening until Christmas Eve, December 24th. We will gather the food and bring it to A Place to Turn, the food pantry serving our immediate neighborhood.
Your generosity is making a real difference in people’s live, people who live closer than you might imagine. God bless you!
