Who We Are...
"The avowed purpose of this Church shall be to worship God; to realize Christian fellowship and unity within this Church and the Church Universal; to render loving service toward all people; and to strive for righteousness, justice, and peace."
Pledge of The Dover Church

The Dover Church has served the local community for longer than there has been an incorporated town of Dover. Indeed, the first stirrings that led to the church’s foundation stretch back into the 1720’s. For more than two centuries our church, in one building or another, has stood at the center of the community’s life. That continues to be true today.
We are a family oriented church, emphasizing the spiritual needs of children and youth, adult, and seniors. We are a united and uniting church that does not stress denominational doctrine or differences, but emphasizes the autonomy of the local church and the right of each individual to exercise freedom in matters of belief. If you are a guest in our midst then please be assured that you are welcome. If you are looking for a church home, then this is a sincere invitation for you to join the men, women and children of our congregation.
We invite you to visit at family service on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Childcare is provided, and following service we gather for refreshments and fellowship in our own Kraft Hall.
If you prefer to worship with another congregation, we will be happy to introduce you to other places of worship in the area.
Faithfully yours,
The friends and members of The Dover Church
Our Covenant
We, the members of The Dover Church, humbly repenting of our sins and trusting in God’s grace to save, guide, and strengthen us, hereby engage to love the Lord our God with all our heart, and soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

We agree to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God. We take the Lord Jesus as our master, His spirit as our spirit, His way of life as ours. We promise to work, to pray, and, if needs be, to suffer for the establishment of God’s kingdom of righteousness, freedom, and love among all people. We agree to do our part in maintaining the services of this church, at home and abroad, to promote its honor and peace, to submit to its discipline, and to be kindly affectioned one to another.
